I agree, they're only original once.
I too would rather have/see/run an original, than a repainted beauty.

I think that is a very reasonable price.
And, one that will not let you take her home.

Good Luck,
Brian

Yes, I have the top. It's removable, so it was off when the dogs were in it.

$5000 firm. I know that's a lot for an unrestored Topper. There may be some more utility boxes out there lurking in barns, but this is the only one I've ever seen.

It's an original bike, so it stays in one piece.

Hello Dave,

Thanks for the pic.
The Topper Parts Manual shows a Top/Cover on the Utility Box. Do you have the Top too?

What's your Price?? If you don't mind.
Make me do the 800 mile drive, please?
Would you sell the Utility Box and frame separate from the Topper?
Thanks

I've received several emails regarding the Topper. Well, here's a picture. Also, I started creating a web page, but never quite finished it.

It's original paint. You might not tell it from the picture, but there are quite a few scratches on the utility box, and other places. The Utility Box is a Harley factory option.

Here's a factory ad:

I haven't started it since last September, so it took about 10 pulls to get it started Sunday. Runs well. Apparently the gas petcock went bad, and the previous owner replaced it with the wrong one, so it is missing the two plastic petcock controls (on/off and reserve). The clutch has always made some noise - but maybe this is a Topper thing. I have a Maryland title, and an excellent condition 1962 MD motorcycle tag. And I do have the hubcap!

Dave, I am working on getting the other rare Topper. For years now, a friend of mine has been pressuring me to buy his Topper stuff. I don't want the Toppers (both 62 models) BUT I DO WANT THE FACTORY SIDECAR that is on one of them.I plan to put it on a very late 1961 Super 10 and build a Hummer Dresser !!!!!

Going to Oley?

I'll be there - probably in Space B - which is behind the food vendor.

If space permits, I will bring a one-of-a-kind for sale - a 1962 Harley Topper with Utility Box. No, it's not a Hummer - but the Topper engine is basically a 165cc version of a BT lying sideways, with a reed valve.
