Dead Battery? ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- After not starting my 56' Hummer 165 for about three or four years I tried to start it today after cleaning and coating the tank, replacing the ignition switch and some other maintenance and it is not getting any spark at the plug or the points. If I turn the ignition switch on and put a screwdriver between the points should I get a spark or not? What do you think the problem is? Also, should the headlight burn when the engine isn't running? It does not burn. Please tell me what I need to do to get spark. I didn't have time to read the troubleshooting section in the book yet but I will look at that tomorrow. Many Thanks, Sonny
