Hi, check the VIN on the front mount of the motor. The vin formula is *date- product code-serial number*. the product code "B" is a true hummer, some Hummers didn't have ether a front brake, or a speedometer. This may get around you needing them for the DMV, but it is the DMV so only those in Wisconsin can answer. The plate might be removed and a speedo, and a 165 or 125 wheel w/speedo gears and cable installed in the front for the vin inspection you also get front brakes (which I recomend). Doug ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Im new to this whole hummer motorcycle i have restored 2 other bikes (72' honda and a 65' bridgestone mountain 90). the things that i have questions about. i have a 1957 hummer 125cc - where is a good place to find parts - mine has a cap/plate over where i see every other bike would have a speedometer? this is a basket case and did not come with a title, i live in wisconsin and in order to get a salvage title the do a inspection and one of the things you need is a speedometer. is there any way around that or is there a way to install a speedometer. - the front rim does not have a brake set up on it? is this a stock option? i havent seen any other with out a brake? - is there any where to get a service manual on this? i went to a harley dealer around my house and the only thing they had was the harley light weight book? but that went from 1958 and up, will this help me at all? - this bike did not come with a carb, ive been looking on ebay and other places and cannot find one. does anyone know where i could find one? also the piston is cracked, i found ton of places to get a new one. |
