Jerry, It sounds to me like you're having way too much fun. I'm jealous. Will there be a "now that I'm older I can be a kid again" book documenting your 'Hummer' adventures? Or maybe retitle it to "Ole Blue wasn't my dog". Either way enjoy yourself and keep us informed....and take pictures!

I rode my 'fifty-three 165 a hundred and twenty-six miles today. Cumulative mileage since the "Mutt" restoration 29 months ago: 2,774.

Last week, I had a local shop give the bike a look-over. I didn't see the bike during the checkup, but they told me the piston and head were running very clean.

Two weeks ago, "Ole Blue" was running weak. The shop cured this by cleaning out all the muffler holes and adding some more holes. The total added holes on the repro muffler are: 4 in the front and 4 in the rear. Of these eight added holes, three were put in last week. The torque and power were doubled -- I'm not kidding! It seems the right combination has been achieved. This week is the first time I've ever passed anybody with Ole Blue. I'm passing cars right and left. The bike can now accelerate on hills that used to slow it down.

Plenty smiles per gallon here!
