First off Chris This style of motor doesn't take a head gasket. I just use a little rtv high temp silicone on the head and bolt it on. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- has anyone had this happen before? i am just finishing up putting back together my 175 65pacer and when i tightened down the head with a new gasket, the gasket split. i made sure to tighten down the four nuts evenly, after i noticed the split i removed the head and the gasket seems to have slid out on the sides and split. here are photos of before and after. what did i do wrong? chris indiana |
