P.S. take a whole lot of pictures of it now. If you don't you'll regret it when it's finished and you 'look back'. Enjoy the ride! ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Ronnie, welcome to the Club! You're going to find some really great people here. Brent Dugan, webmaster ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Hello to the Harley Hummer Club! I have just started to work on an ST 165 that was very badly abused in a previous existence! Just getting the poor thing apart is an adventure. Gobs of weld and stove bolts & screws holding it together. It has a 1958 motor in an 1960 bike, and while the sheet metal is mostly there the motor is in sad shape. I have not got the piston free yet but it will need a different cylinder: not only the usual fin breakage but the carb mount is gone, having been replaced with a home made mount that threads into the cylinder with pipe thread. Goodness knows what else I will discover when I get the cylinder off! I see that there are many aftermarket parts available and some few NOS, and some parts are shared with the STs bigger brothers. So I am hoping that there is someone who might have a cylinder and a carburetor in not too bad shape available for purchase. If you do could you please contact me, Ronnie, at: raazeda -A- hotmail.com Thank you so much! Ronnie |
