Hey --this is all quite interesting --great ideas. How's chances of keeping it all Harley and someone checking into an old Harly golf cart rear end ?? I am not sure what they are like but it would be kept in the spirit of a 2 cycle Harley machine ! Keep the ideas coming !!

Woa, scrap my adult bicycle idea! ATV rear end? Yes! Once you get the frame(s) layed out, the overall dimensions for the rear and whatever wheel adapter plates you figure on then send the rear up to me here in Jersey. I'll do the machining and have the welders at work do their part.

Leroy,

Glad to hear the Hummmster is alive and running. I was kidding about the zero-turn idea, but apparently Mutt is considering it.

A Servi-car like design is the real plan. I'm guessing a Servi-car rear end is way too heavy for a Hummer motor to pull.

The riding mower idea occurred to me too. Dead ones are easy to find and free. But, they typically have solid rear axles, which would make it real difficult to turn a 3-wheeler.

What we need is a differential of some kind.

Brent suggested an adult tricycle rear-end. I have to find a bike store that carries them to check it out.

Another thought is an ATV rear. I'll have to go look at some and see if they could be adapted to the purpose. Dead ones can probably be had pretty cheap.

Let's keep the ideas flowing!

Dave

Yes the Hummmster lives in my house, 120lbs compression, custom sleeve work and stuffed to the max below. It will launch the front tire in 3rd,(seen 4 guys crash it) Dad included. I have everything here to build the 3 wheeler Dad always wanted to build except the rear drive. I am thinking of a riding mower rear end for this. I would like to bring the Hummmster to Davenport and let a racer see what it will do...

Dad has told me of a 125cc drill press and also a washing machine powered by Hummer, yes we do what we have to sometimes.

Cluck cluck Dave, have fun.
