Thanks Mutt - most of the tech data I know is due to your posts. I found a European site that has DKW 125 close ratio (first & second) gears for 215 euros, so I was hoping. I have griped since 1951 about first being too low, but I was too dumb to ask Harley if they made close ratio gears. I am the original owner.

Cool bike ya got there. BSA Bantam gearbox parts do not interchange. Already checked into that. All 48-66 rods measure 125.362mm center to center.

How interchangeable are DKW 125cc transmission parts with my 1950S Hummer tranny? I guess I'm dreaming, but why not? Engine and wheel bearings are metric in both, so maybe tranny parts are metric too. Does anyone know what a 125 con rod length is? I don't want to dismantle it to measure. I'm finally going to get my Hummer updated and running - it was used strictly for desert racing (and Catalina). Thanks for your help.
