Stella, you hussy, you broke my heart. Here I was thinkin' I was finally bein' appreciated for my love of these fine motorcycles by a lady with taste enough to send me flowers. Then I find you're actually flirting with all the boys here! Shame on you. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Due to the Spam from Stella... We've changed the way email addresses appear in the header of each message. Instead of the word "e-mail:", it's now "Electronic:" Instead of joe@somewhere.com, it's "joe -A- somewhere.com" Example: From: Dave Electronic: joe -A- somewhere.com Subject: Battery Date: Thu Sep 30 00:00:00 2010 If you post a message on the Exchange that contains an email address in the BODY of your message, please follow the same convention. If you cut and paste an email from a message into your email program, you'll have to manually change -A- to @ ------------------------ What probably happened is that "Stella" read every message on the Exchange, and copied down anything with an @ in it. Of course, she didn't do this manually - it's very easy to automate. The changes we made are not foolproof, but will thwart many of the email-harvesting programs floating around out there. If you got a message from Stella - and have NEVER posted a message on the Hummer Exchange, please let me know - maybe I need to do something different. Dave |
