Thanks for the info. I've just had the project for a couple of weeks and was guessing what that switch was. I do have a service manual and rider's handbook that would have informed me had I taken the time to look. Sounds like fun getting those wires to go down the center pipe. Any ideas on how I should do it?

Dave, Kill switch on a ST 165? You should have a horn button and a headlight dimmer on the handlebars, all the wires go straight down the center pipe and through the frame neck to the underside of the fork stem. There should be a small clamp (part no. 9962) held by a #8-32 round head screw (2631) which secures the end of the headlight wire harness coming from the dimmer switch, the headlight wire then goes through the hole (with a rubber grommet)in the tin fork cover. If you need pictures I'll take some tomorrow and post.
Mike

Where are the horn and kill switch wires supposed to exit the handle bars on my ST 165? Mine has them coming out the slot where the throttle cable comes out and then going through the two holes in the fork cover. This is preventing me from routing the front brake and throttle cables through these two holes. Something must be wrong with where the wires have been routed!
