A basket case Harley light weight was recently sold to me as a 1958 Hummer 165, in doing research mostly from this sight, I can't determine what year "Hummer" it is or if it is a 165. The engine serial is NM2001380. It seems that they started using the 2000 serial numbers in 1960. The frame appears to 58 or 59 as it has the reinforcements, the integral kick stand / footpeg, and magneto mount holes on the front downtube. "Hummer" is stamped on the top of the triple tree. The speedometer is either a 57 or 58, but the needle is missing so it is hard to differentiate which one it might be. Any help with the engine serial would be much appreciated and may help solve the mystery. Thanks. Brian
