Thanks Mutt for correcting my error. Doug ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- OH BOY !!!! I almost started messing with it last night but decided it would be toooo much to tackle being I was tired so turned the front brake cable clamp around to see if that would stop the cable from weating paint off of the front fender,it did, looks like I wo`nt have to mess with wiring after aall.LOL Thank You very much for the heads up Mutt. Martin ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Joker, DON'T DO THAT !!! that hole was only used to route wires thru on the 1948-1952 models. Starting in '53, those terminal screws were used instead. Your bike is right as it sits Mutt ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- I forgot to mention, the hole is through the underside of that little under cut portion of the fender. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- There is a hole in the rear fender where the green arrow is pointing, what would be the purpose of this hole and should I have welded it shut "before" the paint was applied?????? Other than that,I,hehehheee, think it turned out quite well. Don't fill in the hole! The hole is used as a wireway between the brake light switch and the brake light. I have at 52 and a 57 and they were both wired using the hole in the fender. |
