Do you mean the tab that holds the brake backing plate from rotating? I'd guess the easiest way to get it right would be to mount the backing plate thereby aligning the "nipple".

Check that the plate is on the correct side with the long fender mounting tang sticking back.

Don't know what it is called, but twords the end of the strut I have this nipple. It goes through the strut and is welded on the back side. My weld broke so I have to have it rewelded. When I match up the broken weld the nipple sits slightly off parallell from the line of the strut. Is this correct? Want to make sure before I reweld.
