The reason the coil was moved between the earlier 125(S model) and 165 was the head/plug interference. Whether it will fit or not will come down to if you have to have the coil removed to change spark plug.

The later 125, the Hummer used the same frame as the 165 minus the battery and regulator but keeping the battery holder with the engine should make it swap OK.

Both these are only my guesses from years of seeing these bikes and working on friends but never swapping.

The engine will bolt in, yes. The wiring of the earlier "ST" models will be
different but adaptable.

Are the engines interchangeable with other models? For example, can
you put the 175 engine on 165 frame with the rest of the 165?

Is it possible to put a 165 in a 125 frame?
