Thanks, Duane. Guess I didn't understand what I heard. Good news in any case, since the pipe is available. Thanks again for your advice and conversation. It was great to talk with you! CJ ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- CJ: CLARIFICATION. DUANE HERE. A MISUNDERSTANDING RE THE EXHAUST PIPE AND PROBABLY DUE TO MY ONE EAR RECEPTION. THE PIPE ON THE PACER NOW IS THE EARLY EDITION (65439-47)WITH TWO BENDS. THE SECOND EDITION (65439-55)WITH THE SINGLE CURVE WOULD BE THE ONE NEEDED AND THOSE HAVE BEEN MADE. I HAVE THOSE ON THE SHELF. THE (65439-63) PIPE IS THE ONE THAT I REFERRED TO AS NOT HAVING BEEN (AT LEAST TO MADE TO MY KNOWLEDGE)AND IT WAS NOT A ONE YEAR ONLY PIPE. ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- Rode up with my brother to Portland, Oregon this weekend to pick up a '62 Pacer he bought. Nice bike that is mostly all there. Of course, some of the parts are incorrect. Although it has a headpipe, we were old by none other than Duane Taylor that it is the wrong one and that no one is making a repop of this single-year piece. If anyone has a '62 headpipe they can part with, we would be interested - even if it in poor shape, so long as we can determine the shape of the offset by the rear brake pedal. Even a few pictures of one in place on the bike would be helpful. Thanks for any assistance |
