Restore   Chapter 7   Spare Parts Catalogs ←  Up  →

The following are computer scans of H-D Spare Parts Catalog covers from the from the collections of "Mutt" Hallam #507 and Dave Hennessey #0. These are being offered for the purpose of providing a cronological history for the identification of the specific catalogs needed by our members. Special thanks to Mutt for his efforts on behalf of the the Harley Hummer Club.

In Mutt's own words: "For anyone wanting to truly restore one of these American-made lightweight models, it's necessary to use the Parts Book that covers the models only up to and including your year model. The reason for this being as follows: Say you're restoring a 1951 125. If you buy a Parts Manual that covers 1948-1960, the manual will tell you to use 45935-52A fork outer tube cap. If you use this part, you will be using the WRONG part. The part # you actually need to be using is 45935-51. So by the time you finish building the bike and get it judged at an AMCA Meet, 'points' will be deducted for MANY items being incorrect. Better to buy the part only one time to save possibly many headaches later on !!!"
