In 1957, the Model 165 was available in the same colors as its brother, the Hummer. The Model 165 and Hummer tank decals were now the same except for the model name. Both shared the same new muffler, hanger and clamps.
The Enthusiast new model announcement issue (Sept 1956) lists the following improvements: (1) Font wheel needle bearings; (2) New sturdier muffler mounting [and muffler] and clamp; (3) Horn mounting laminations increased from two to four; (4) New speedometer |

The Model 165 used the same generator that was previously used on the 1952 Model 125.

The 74510-47A voltage regulator is about 2.75 inches square. The cover is held on by 2 diagonally-located screws. This style was used from 1955 until 1959.
