That's right, NOTHING but spring pressure secures the operating lever to the brake rod. One day I discovered about one foot of brake pedal travel and absolutely no rear brake operation. Nothing holds the brake rod clevis pin to the operating lever, but the pressure from the brake rod going through it and the nut on the end.
