I wouldn't do that. I'd get a spark plug hole thread repair kit. I'm not recommending this particular kit, but it is the first one that came up when I googled. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00825PWR6 There are many others. The inserts for these are not regular Heli-coil inserts. They are proper-length for spark plugs inserts, and have have a lip on the top so they can only go in so far. If you're looking for an aluminum expert, look here http://www.harleykmodel.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=115 ----- ORIGINAL MESSAGE FOLLOWS ----- For my 1956 165, I needed to have the spark plug hole bored out to 18mm from the original 14mm due to stripped threads. A recommendation for an 18mm champion plug to replace the original champion H10 is appreciated. |
