Frame differences

My 48 125 came complete, but the frame has been repaired in the neck area. Not a pretty job. I can remove the repair and start over. I have another frame that is not repaired, and looks good I can use. Are the frames somewhat the same, do they have numbers to identify the year made. On other motorcycles it's always good to have a matching numbers bike. Your thoughts? Stan

any motor will fit any frame. The 48/49 models had a welded on tube for a neck 50 and later models had a pinned and brazed on neck
