BATTERY SHELLS:
YES I HAVE BEEN MAKING THEM FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS AND IT WAS AN INTERESTING/TIME CONSUMING PROJECT TO DEVELOP A PROCESS THAT WOULD MAKE AN EXACT DUPLICATE OF ALL THE LETTERING AND OTHER FINE DETAIIL.
THANKS TO PERRY RUITER FOR LENDING HIS "FAIRLY GOOD" ORIGINAL BATTERY TO MAKE THE FIRST MOULD . ALL OTHERS FOUND HAD TOO MANY CRACKS, CHIPS, SCRATCHES , ETC. TO USE AS THE PROCESS WILL COPY EVERY DEFECT.
LAST YEAR, I FOUND AN ALMOST PERFECT DEAD BATTERY WHICH IS NOW USED FOR COPY.
THE CASTING PROCESS IS FINE TUNED CURRENTLY AND REQUIRES A VACUUM FOR THE MEDIUM TO ELIMINATE/PREVENT DEFECTS.
THAT SAID, THERE IS ONLY ONE SHELL MODEL FOR THE BATTERY OPERATED "HUMMER" BIKES.
HARLEY LOGO PAINTED GREEN FOR 48-54 MODELS
HARLEY LOGO PAINTED RED FOR THE 55 AND LATER MODELS.
ANOTHER SHELL I HAVE MADE:
BAR AND SHIELD LOGO AS USED ON THE BIG TWINS WITH NO COLOR MARKING. MUTT WOULD KNOW WHEN THESE WERE FIRST USED AND HIS COMMENT IS REQUESTED.
