I see two shifter levers on E/Bay first one is part#35066-47
The second one is part #34605-47 they say for a small splined shaft.
In the parts manual they list part # 34600-47a cpt for 1948-1953 what is the correct part # for a 1948 shifter lever ?

34605-47 is the correct shift lever for your 48. It is the "skinny" one. Of interest, it is not even listed in the later (1955) parts catalog.
