1952 125S Caruretor

Postby Scott » Thu Oct 13, 2022 5:19 pm

I just started working on a 1952 125S. I have lots of work to do just to see if the thing will run. Trying to do research first. In reading old posts I've learned that the correct carb. for this bike is an L&L S-1. The carb. on mine is a TK, there are the numbers 288E3 and 2C on it as well. Is anyone familiar with this carb? Will it work on this bike? It fits loosely on the neck and can't be fully tightened, which I'm sure could be fixed with a bushing of sorts. I can't seem to find out much about this carb. other than they are used on weed-eaters and other small engines. I've attached a few pics.

The thing to remember about carburetors is how much air it can pass and the size of the jet(s).
In principal, any carburetor designed for the needs of a 125cc should work. Getting it to bolt to the engine and setting the air/fuel ratio for you application are the ‘fun’ parts.
Good Luck.
There is a ton of data out there to digest.
Most importantly, have fun.
