1959st headlamp

Postby Emerica1975 » Wed Apr 05, 2023 9:59 pm

I’m wondering about the size ( diameter) of the headlamp (part number 67702-59) for the ‘59st. It looks a lot like the the 7 inch headlight for the FL (67701-49). Or is it a smaller diameter. I know they’re different part numbers but they sure look alike in pictures.

totally different lamps. The -59 is a Guide HH-58 head light but is only 5 1/2", The Cycle Rays and Hydra-Glide lights are 7"

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been trying to find a headlight for the -59. It looks like the old sportster has a closer in size headlamp but still not correct. I guess I still have some searching to do.

One more headlamp question. The scat headlamps looks very similar but it looks to have a different part number. What makes it different? I ask because I just want to find a headlight that doesn’t look to big. Thanks

the 59 is a one year only headlight, only because it has 2 yellow plastic wires, instead of the 60 and later green & red plastic wires. The headlight itself is the same on all models 1959-66. I probably have the correct head light if you don't find one

Thanks for the information. I’ll start my search now. And the part about the one year only with 2 yellow wires is why I love old bikes and learning about them. Thanks Mutt!!
