posting pictures

Anybody know how to get a picture to go on the for sale and wanted forum? I have tried several times and what I select just causes the whole post to disappear.

I choose a file to attach and click "add the file". Then, I put my cursor where I want the photo in the post. Then, I click "Place inline". It adds the image file name between tags that say "attachment". Files must be pretty small (<500 kB).
