it is pinned into the case it sits in. The pin will sit flush with the lip on the plate. 3/32 pins. Just cut a couple off the end of a drill bit. 1/8" into the case is plenty. Yes and no, you have to remove the lip off the case. Centering the plate is easy. Just measure the depth of the recess. The distance from the bottom of the plate to the opposite side of the lip will be 1/2. I just put one back in a motor a few weeks ago, but I didnt take any pictures. But there is an easier way than pinning. Using a file, file off all of the lip on the PLATE, leaving only two slots about 3/8" long, one at 3 and one at 9 oclock.. Insert plate into case that has the lip. Transfer the slots onto the case lip and file the 2 slots into the case lip. It can be done easily in 10 minutes.
