My father had a 1958 165 ST I have a picture of him riding my 3 older siblings around the yard. I happened 10 years after them, and my whole life I remember this bike sitting in our shed. After my parents passing the bike was sold at auction. At the time I didn't have the means to acquire it. My siblings knew who had bought it, about a year later I saw him riding it in town and asked that if he ever thought about selling it to let me know. He indicated that he would never sell it as he had gotten to much enjoyment out of getting it running. Short story long, I ran into him again and I now have it back in my possession. He has painted it but has left the original buddy seat. It needs some work, but I plan to dig in and at least be able to ride it from time to time. I am located in Salem Illinois (Southern IL) so if there is anyone close let me know.

CONGRATULATIONS.
I am thrilled to have ‘bragging rights’ of owning one of these forgotten pieces of World History/Harley-Davidson History.
You folks who are privileged to retain or find a family owned motorcycle must be over-the-top thrilled.
Again, congratulations and enjoy the ride!
